ATESOL NSW Inc. is an incorporated professional association of people working in the field of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and related areas. The association was formed in 1971 and was known as ATEFL until 1980 when it became the Association of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages NSW. It assumed its current name in March 2002.
ATESOL NSW's members come from all education sectors: early childhood, primary, secondary, tertiary, ELICOS, adult and community education.

PETAA Paper
'Teaching EAL/D Learners in Australian Classrooms', an academic article co-written by ACTA Councillors Michèle de Courcy, Karen Dooley, Robert Jackson, Jenny Miller and Kathy Rushton, has been published by the Primary English Teaching Association Australia (PETAA). The article was contracted as a PETAA Paper and distributed to all PETAA members in March 2012. You can see a sample of the article and purchase copies on the PETAA website.
