Advocacy

Read ATESOL NSW's recent letters to the NSW Minister for Education and Training and the Director-General of Education and Training on the issues of the shortfall of ESL teachers in NSW,  the inadequate and inequitable time restrictions placed on newly-arrived refugee students in government Intensive English Centres and the Intensive English High School, and the English (ESL) HSC examination respectively, along with our initial letter to the NSW Board of Studies recommending changes to the time allocations for the English (ESL) HSC examination in order to bring it into line with the English (Standard) and English (Advanced) exams. (See our Noticeboard section, under Advocacy .)
